What is NPF?
NPF is National Pro Fastpitch, a national women’s professional fastpitch softball league. The league will provide an opportunity for outstanding female athletes to compete at a professional level and will give younger players role models to look up to and a higher level to aspire to.

When will league games be played?
The 2008 season will officially begin on May 29 and will run until mid-August with regular season games, followed by championship playoffs.

Who is in the league?
2008 teams are: New England Riptide, Akron Racers, Chicago Bandits, Philadelphia Force, Rockford Thunder and the Washington Glory.

Where do the players come from?
Players in the league come from across the country, and include past Olympians, past US national team members, players from the former professional softball league (WPSL), college world series winners and participants, and other outstanding former college players. The Riptide values local talent, and is pleased to have selected several local players who display the ability to play at the professional level.

What is the age of the players?
The league has a minimum age of 21. The league values education and having four years of college eligibility, and strongly prefers that college students complete their degree before coming into the league. Therefore, most players will fall into the range of age 21 through early 30s.

How many players will there be on each roster?
The league allows a minimum of 12 and maximum of 16 players.

When do the gates open on game days?
Gates open 1 1/2 hours before game time. Food is available at that time.

Can I watch the team practice before games?
If you are there early, you will get a chance to see the team take infield practice.

Can I bring my own food into the park?
We do not allow you to bring in your own food, however we have a variety of options to make a meal of, such as hamburgers and hot dogs. There are also many options for snacks, such as cotton candy, sunflower seeds, and slush.

What are the ticket prices?
$10 for individual tickets, $9 for seniors, under 3 is free. Groups rates are $9 for groups of 10-24 people, and $8 for 25+ people. Youth team fundraising options are also available.

Can I pay by credit card at the field?
Yes, you can purchase tickets and merchandise with a Mastercard or Visa card.

Can I order tickets on the website?
Yes, you can order individual tickets and 4-game flex pack tickets on the website.

Where else can I get tickets?
You can call the Riptide office at 866-474-7843 and order individual, as well as group tickets. Tickets are also available at the gate, subject to availability.

What if I order tickets on the website or by phone close to the date of the game?
Tickets ordered approximately 1 week to 10 days before a game (depending on where you live) will be held in your name at the gate.

Can I get autographs from the players?
We have an autograph session with players at the end of the game. You can have your program, a souvenir ball, t-shirt, or anything else signed.

What if I catch a foul ball in the stands, can I keep it?
Yes!

What if I come with my softball team or other group? Are there special activities for this or other special events?
If you are here with a group, or if you are having a birthday, please be sure to let a staff member know and we'll be happy to make an announcement for you.

What if a game is rained out?
We make every effort to get the game in, which means we will play in drizzle and light rain. Dress accordingly! You can be comfortable with a warm jacket, raincoat, umbrella, etc. If the rain is heavy and/or there are nearby thunderstorms, a rain delay might be called. If after a short time, it becomes clear that the game will be rained out, you may use your ticket stub to enter the rescheduled game, or any other home game, subject to availability.

Is the Riptide affiliated with any youth teams?
The New England Riptide does not have an affiliation nor endorse any youth leagues or tournament/travel teams.

All youth teams that wish to use the trademarked Riptide logo and/or wordmark on their uniforms must obtain the uniforms from a licensed dealer. Please contact Majestic Athletic 800-955-8555 for information on the League Uniform Program. They will help you wear the Riptide and other NPF team names in pride!
